Have you recently gone to God with prayers as bold as Jabez? Are you willing to pray that God would not just bless you, but that He would expand your territory?
Praying those words calls for a step of faith on your part. It is a prayer that must be accompanied with the act of expectancy. You wait and expect God will enlarge your daily territory. You wait expecting and knowing God will do great things.
As you wait begin stirring up the boldness required to step out of your comfort zone. New territories are always uncomfortable at first. But God will grant your request as you look beyond yourself over the horizon to see a new territory, a new place, or new opportunity filled with new people.
Lord, expand our territories today. Use us beyond being a blessing in our homes, our work places and our churches. Use us to bless Your people in our communities, our cities and our country. Bless us indeed!

Get Ready

From Grumbling to Gratitude
Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.”

Come to the Lord, teach others and sing songs of praise and soon He’ll change your grumbling to gratitude.

The Gift of Encouragement
Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV
Being encouraged by someone is such a gift. Encouragement comes in many forms; cards, prayers, phone calls, hugs, words or just being there for someone. The challenge for each of us this week is to specifically encourage someone. That person that is on your mind right now, write their name down and then follow-up with encouragement.
I want to thank Melissa in PA for leaving a comment last week. That short comment brought such encouragement to me and hopefully to you. Let’s build each other up with the gift of encouragement.

Life Verse
“She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed.” Proverbs 3:18
My daughter rushed into the kitchen one day with her Bible in hand and pronounced she had found her life verse. She began to read the verse from above. I was amazed she knew what a life verse was and that she had claimed one as her own.
We discussed the verse, what it meant, and that the “she” the scripture refers to is actually wisdom. She said she wanted to live her life with those attributes of wisdom guiding her.
From my 14 year old may we be reminded of a phenomenal way to live our days -- being a tree of life to those around us as we fill them with encouragement, joy, and blessings.
