Step Out of the Traffic

“Be still, and know that I am God”. Psalm 46:10

We live in a busy society. We run all day long from dropping kids off at school, to work, to meetings and lunch appointments. We run to pick up kids up from school and then from activity to activity in the evenings. Busy, busy, busy! Our daily checklists cry out, do, do, do!

Henry Blackaby writes in Experiencing God, “I think God is crying out and shouting to us, ‘Don’t just do something. Stand there! Enter into a love relationship with Me. Get to know Me. Adjust your life to Me. Let Me love you and reveal Myself to you.’”

Psalm 46:10 in The Message says, “Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at Me, your High God, above politics, above everything.”

Step out of the rat race. Linger in God’s word more than you linger over political issues in the newspaper. Be still and come to know God above everything.
